Mats Roolvink is a 23-year-old Dutch-American Bass-Baritone studying at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg with Professors Barbara Bonney and Andreas Macco.  He is a member of the 5th Generation Young Artist at Opera Fuoco Paris.  He made his Paris debut performing the role of Colline in La Boheme in 2021.


Mats has received full scholarships from Bayreuth Festival, Les Arts Florissants, Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Oper Oder-Spree, Manchester Music Festival to attend masterclasses with Paul Agnew, Peter Kooij, Warren Jones, Vivica Genaux, John Lundgren, Berhard Kansky, and Inva Mulla. 


On the competition front, he is the First Prize Winner of the American Prize Competition in Art Song & Oratorio for College Division, 3rd Prize Winner of the Alida Vane International Singing Competition in Latvia, and 3rd Prize Winner of the Neapolitan Masters Competition in Naples Italy. 


Mats comes from a diverse, multinational background.  Born in Singapore to Dutch and Chinese American parents, he completed the final two years of high school at Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Boston before moving to Europe to further his studies.  Besides English, Mats is fluent in German, Dutch and also speaks basic Italian, Mandarin and Japanese.
